Congratulations – you’ve found your first apartment! This moment is exhilarating (and a little terrifying as well). Gone are the dorm room days or your childhood bedroom. It’s time to make your new place truly yours. Let the Alamosa Home Team guide you along with tried and true advice to make your space fabulous!
When to Spend
An essential piece of furniture in your apartment is your mattress and a quality mattress is a tremendous investment. Many of us turn to our bedrooms not only for sleep, but for a quiet and comfortable place to do work-related and personal activities. The mattress and bedding you rest upon can make all the difference. The Team at Alamosa Home will help you find the right combination of mattress and foundation that fits your needs, your price range, and your new space!
“The Earth is what we all have in common.” Wendell Berry
April 22nd marks this year’s Earth Day – a day when we honor our planet and remember to handle it with care. There are many ways we can make a difference in taking care of Mother Earth each and every day.
The Team at Alamosa Home cares about the environment and ensures that our practices have a positive impact on both the local and global environment. Many of our products come wrapped in cardboard which we cut up, store, and recycle at the local recycling center. As part of our delivery service we remove old mattresses, foundations and furniture. Anything that is clean and re-useable goes to the local Community Against Violence thrift store and the Re-store benefiting Habitat for Humanity. We use LED bulbs as part of our store lighting, producing less heat, which means running the air conditioning less in the summer.
Alamosa and the world is a beautiful place, we enjoy living in a clean and healthy environment, and we’re doing our part to make sure future generations can also enjoy it. Read on about two of our brands that offer eco-friendly and fair trade products.Read more

Mattress Mary and her team traveled to High Point, North Carolina to attend High Point Market – the largest home furnishings trade show in the world. Over five jam-packed days, Mary and team navigated the showrooms, checked out some funky furniture including a cello bar and giant pocket knife table, took in the new trends (blue is the new brown!), and connected with Shark Tank finalist Kiersten Parsons Hathcock of Mod Mom Furniture and Robert Petril of Mod Life. Mary noted that this dynamic duo is taking classic furniture pieces and turning them upside down! It was a successful trip and we’re excited to introduce some fresh and fabulous pieces to Alamosa Home, read on for what will be unveiled in the near future.Read more
