Celebrate Earth Day with Eco-Friendly and Fair Trade Home Goods

earthday.org

“The Earth is what we all have in common.” Wendell Berry

April 22nd marks this year’s Earth Day – a day when we honor our planet and remember to handle it with care.  There are many ways we can make a difference in taking care of Mother Earth each and every day.

The Team at Alamosa Home cares about the environment and ensures that our practices have a positive impact on both the local and global environment.  Many of our products come wrapped in cardboard which we cut up, store, and recycle at the local recycling center. As part of our delivery service we remove old mattresses, foundations and furniture.  Anything that is clean and re-useable goes to the local Community Against Violence thrift store and the Re-store benefiting Habitat for Humanity. We use LED bulbs as part of our store lighting, producing less heat, which means running the air conditioning less in the summer.

Alamosa and the world is a beautiful place, we enjoy living in a clean and healthy environment, and we’re doing our part to make sure future generations can also enjoy it.   Read on about two of our brands that offer eco-friendly and fair trade products.

By providing quality goods in this manner, they hope to fill people’s homes with goods that make them smile while supporting artisans and other people worldwide.

Their Products

Add a dash of character and light with the Gecko Wall Sconce that comes in a variety of colors.  The eye catching lampshade is made from fossilized cocoa leaves.  The gecko frame is constructed from wrought iron and then wrapped in abaca twine, with the feet and the tip of the tail exposed, giving the lamp a striking contrast.  Need some privacy?  The Nitro Screen Series is perfect to organically partition a room. Continue to bring the look of the outside in with a beautifully crafted end table such as the Pico End Table, the Boca Table, or the Pazol End Table.
